Client's Condition
This client operates in the field of metal recycling. His workshop is a generous space, boasting dimensions of 20 meters in length and 5 meters in width. Within this vast expanse, several state-of-the-art 8000w fiber laser cutting systems are meticulously arranged. Each laser cutter is fitted with a sophisticated rail mechanism that is elevated to a height of 0.8 meters, enabling fluid and accurate maneuvering throughout the cutting operations.
Following a detailed examination and contemplation of the client’s requirements and the specific circumstances of the worksite, DRIC embarked on crafting a bespoke laser smoke extraction system. This custom-designed fume extraction unit was meticulously engineered to combat the smoke and dust particles produced during the laser cutting operations within the facility.
Why choose laser fume extraction?
DRIC has developed a laser fume extraction system for welding equipment that utilizes a dual-action suction and blowing method for the collection of smoke and fumes. The primary unit of the extraction system is fitted with a pre-filter module capable of effectively capturing larger particles, lessening the burden and wear on the filter media, and thereby enhancing its service life.
Concurrently, it acts as a barrier to prevent sparks from reaching the purification chamber, which could potentially lead to a fire, thus ensuring the equipment’s safe operation. The welding fume extractor is also equipped with an automatic ash removal mechanism, where the dust trapped on the filter material’s surface is dislodged by the air stream and funneled into the dust collection hopper at the base of the unit. Only the periodic emptying of the dust collection hopper is necessary for maintenance.
Client's Assessment
Following the integration of the laser fume extraction system developed by DRIC for the welding equipment, it was met with universal acclaim from the workforce. It successfully addressed the issue of significant smoke and fume pollution produced during the company’s welding operations, safeguarding the health of the workforce.
